CHRISTMAS PANTO PUB TOUR
A group from Kendal Community Theatre is to bring festive entertainment to Kendal pubs in December. They will perform a short comic pantomime and other light-hearted items in an event lasting between 15 and 30 minutes at each pub. A collection for the Mayor of Kendal’s charity, the Kendal Lads and Girls Club, will be taken at each venue.
Exact dates and times at each venue have not yet been arranged and more information will be issued nearer the time. There will also be posters up at the pubs.
“We shall be visiting half-a-dozen pubs during the week”, says Chris Taylor, who is organising the tour. “There will be songs and readings as well as the short pantomime. We hope that patrons of the pubs will be entertained and will be generous in contributing to the Mayor’s charity. We invite interested landlords of central Kendal pubs to contact us”. Chris’s phone number is 01539 727424.
Councillor John Willshaw, the Mayor of Kendal, adds, “The Kendal Lads and Girls club provides indoor and outdoor activities for youngsters and teenagers in Kendal and the money raised will help to support these activities. I am very grateful to Kendal Community Theatre for their support and wish them well with their venture.”

Finale at the Castle
Tonight saw the final scene from the play with the discovery of the empty tomb at the castle, the fire sculptures (by Walk the Plank) and our Community Choir. Not a very long performance but dramatic enough that someone phoned the fire brigade to report that the castle was on fire! Here are a few photographs of the evening (taken by B Willoughby unless otherwise indicated):
Thank you everyone that joined us up there tonight. If you have any photos or video you would be willing to share please e-mail us or check out our Facebook page.

Full Street Rehearsal
In glorious sunshine the cast of A Passion for Kendal took to the streets to rehearse all the scenes in their live locations. It was great to perform out where we will be live on Friday and hopefully the passersby enjoyed the impromptu entertainment too!
